Arrival by airplane

Magdeburg is located about 120 km from the airports of Hannover, Leipzig/Halle and Berlin. Berlin has the airports Tegel, Schönefeld. All airports are served by public transportation. The price for a one-way ticket from one of these airports to Magdeburg is 20 - 26 Euro.

The major international hub in Frankfurt/Main is about 350 km from Magdeburg.

Frankfurt  The airport has a train terminal connected. From there the most convenient connections are to Hannover. From Hannover a connecting train goes to Magdeburg (total travel time 4 h). Berlin Tegel  From the airport Berlin-Tegel there is a frequent bus service X9 to the railway station of Berlin-Zoologischer Garten. A  bus trip takes about 20 minutes. Trains for Magdeburg leave from the railway station about once an hour, the journey takes about 105 minutes.

Berlin Schönefeld  From the airport Berlin-Schönefeld trains for Magdeburg leave from the railway station Berlin-Schönefeld Flughafen. The journey takes about 150 minutes.

Airport Hannover  At Hannover airport a local train (Line 5) takes you to the central railway station of Hannover within 20 - 30 minutes. Trains for Magdeburg leave from the railway station about once an hour, the journey takes about 90 minutes.

Airport Leipzig-Halle  The airport nearest to Magdeburg is Leipzig-Halle-airport. Has many national flight connections. Very convenient, there the train station is integrated into the airport. There is an hourly direct fast train to Magdeburg (travel time 60 min).

Arrival by train

Magdeburg is well connected to the German railway network. To find your personal connection please visit the homepage  DB AG. The conference center can be reached from the central railway station of Magdeburg within 10 minutes either by taxi (fare about 10 Euro) or by tram No. 6, direction Herrenkrug, the stop is right in front of the railway station.

Arrival by car

Magdeburg is well connected to the German motorway network. Coming from Berlin or Hannover via motorway A2, use exit 'Magdeburg-Zentrum' and stay for about 3 km on the city highway (Magdeburger Ring) until the exit 'Burg/Dessau-B1', after the second bridge over the Elbe, turn left and follow the signs saying 'Herrenkrug'.
